The excellent team of Mr. Yves Castanou (DG of the Regulatory Agency for Post and Electronic Communications of the Republic of Congo) signed with Tactikom to install ictNetSim-LT in Brazzaville and calculate tariffs for mobile voice network operators such as Airtel, MTN, Warid Telecom Congo and AZUR. Within a few weeks detailed calculations were performed using ictNetSim for the first three operators (with the minimum required data). This allowed the ARPCE to have valuable information on the sustainability and price competitiveness of these operators.
The ARPCE, very professional, was then able to introduce asymmetric interconnection rates in the Republic of Congo, breaking with symmetric interconnection charges that are only justified by the inability of traditional pricing models to capture accurately realities of the operators.
The operators who participated in this exercise were given the possibility to resume all the calculations themselves with the rechargeable license pack available to them. Beyond the regulatory issues, it is the way ictNetSim contributes to the consolidation of their competitiveness that attracts operators.
